1919 AL - Games of Friday, 16 May

White Sox 9, Red Sox 2The early season barrage from the White Stockings continues as they sweep Boston in the three-game series with an easy 9-2 win. A four-run 4th set the tone, behind the first of Joe Jackson's two triples in the game (to give him an AL-leading five three-base hits on the season), and Chicago piled on with a pair in each of the next two innings to settle matters in favor of Red Faber, who allowed only one earned run in securing his third win in as many decisions. Happy Felsch knocked in three runs, and Harry Hooper had three hits for the Red Sox. [box]
